The Relationships among Patient Needs, Social Support, and Patient Satisfaction with Service in Elderly using Home Health Nursing

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the degree of and relationship among patient needs, social support, and patient satisfaction in elderly home health nursing users. Methods: A descriptive survey was administered in elderly individuals receiving home-care nursing services selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires between April 18 and May 3, 2024. Data analyses included descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analyses. Result: The analysis included 134 responses. Satisfaction with home health nursing showed significant differences according to the duration of service use (t=-2.66, p=0.09). Patient satisfaction was higher among those who had used the service for ≥ 24 months. Analysis of the relationships among patient needs, social support, and patient satisfaction revealed that service satisfaction had a significant positive correlation with the patient needs and social support sub-factors.
