Purpose: The objective of this study is to determine the extent to which role conflict, the nursing work environment, and positive psychological capital of physician assistant nurses affect the work performance of physician assistant nurses. Methods: A structured questionnaire from 145 physician assistant nurses employed at one tertiary general hospital in D metropolitan city and one general hospital in S autonomous city was used for collection of data between July 22, 2024, and August 30, 2024. IBM SPSS/WIN program ver.29.0, employing descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis were used for collection and analysis of data. Results: Factors that significantly influenced nursing work performance included positive psychological capital (β=.57, p<.001) and assignment to a clinical department as a physician assistant nurse (β=-.17, p=.010), with an explanatory power of 47.6% (F=14.07, p<.001). Conclusion: Nursing work performance increased as positive psychological capital increased, and when the department of the physician assistant nurse was the clinical department, nursing work performance decreased compared to when the department was the nursing department. Therefore, in order to improve the work performance of physician assistant nurses, increased positive psychological capital is required and physician assistant nurses should belong to the nursing department.
