Purpose: This study aimed to identify the impact of attitudes toward suicide attempt patients and suicide literacy on professional quality of life among clinical nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with 164 nurses working in emergency centers and trauma centers. Data were collected from June 17-23, 2024, using structured questionnaires. Statistical analyses included independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean scores were: attitudes toward suicide attempt patients 2.70±0.35 (5-point scale), suicide literacy 0.87±0.13 (1-point scale), compassion satisfaction 3.30±0.59, burnout 2.98±0.50, and secondary traumatic stress 2.44±0.36 (5-point scales). For compassion satisfaction, department satisfaction (β=.53, p<.001) and suicide literacy (β=.16, p=.012) were significant predictors (Adj R²=.328, F=40.75, p<.001). For burnout, female gender (β=.18, p=.017), department satisfaction (β=.22, p=.003), and attitudes toward suicide attempt patients (β=.25, p=.001) were significant predictors (Adj R²=.115, F=8.05, p<.001). For secondary traumatic stress, trauma center assignment (β=.18, p=.016) and attitudes toward suicide attempt patients (β=.28, p<.001) were significant predictors (Adj R²=.101, F=9.30, p<.001). Conclusion: Department satisfaction and suicide literacy positively influenced compassion satisfaction, while negative attitudes toward suicide attempt patients increased both burnout and secondary traumatic stress. These findings suggest the need for educational interventions to improve nurses' attitudes and understanding of suicide patients.
